Make holiday memories to last a lifetime with Pritchard Leisure this summer
Summer is almost upon us, daffodils have started to flower and the long dark nights are becoming brighter day by day.
And with the promise of summer being so close, there will only be one thing that is on everyone’s minds and that’s where to go on holiday.
For some people, they will be dusting off their passports ready to jet off, but many other families will be eager to explore what the UK and Wales have to offer.
And although big brand favourites like Butlins and Haven will be the first port of call for some families, others will be wanting to experience what smaller family-run sites are about.
Pritchard Leisure is a family-run business over three generations and its main goal is for families to make amazing memories during their time away.
The family-run group has two unique parks under its wing and takes pride in providing guests with quality stays. Each location has its own quirks to suit different guests providing unique experiences – in comparison to big-name holiday parks where the set-up, clubhouses and activities are all the same and on-brand.

Pritchard Leisure refuses to conform and throw in the towel to its big holiday chain competitors – who are buying small independent parks and cloning them to become a part of a huge franchise.
Each park has a dedicated dog exercise area so your four-legged family members can have some fun for themselves. There are also play areas for children to explore and play for hours on end.

In 1989, John Pritchard and his daughter Caroline entered the holiday park industry, proudly purchasing Sarnfaen Holiday Park in Tal-y-Bont just outside Barmouth. Caroline became the first Park Manager for the new family-run enterprise, together with her husband Robert Gallimore.
Soon to join this young and dynamic team was Debbie Ball, who since her first role as Office Manager for Sarnfaen, has dedicated her career to the development of the company, now leading as the first General Manager of Pritchard Leisure, with support from Caroline as CEO.
With Caroline driving the flagship holiday park towards growing success, John applied his sharp wit and entrepreneurial flair to the exploration of new opportunities for this prospering family venture in North Wales, adding four additional holiday parks to the portfolio.
Together with heavy investments and the help of dedicated employees, three of the parks were nurtured into successful operations before being sold. The fourth park John chanced upon was Madryn Castle, part of an old Tudor estate on the Llŷn Peninsula.
In 2020, three decades after John and his daughter Caroline began their journey into the holiday park industry, Caroline’s own daughters Samantha and Jessica became the third generation of Pritchards to join the family enterprise.
Following in her grandfather’s footsteps, Sam now manages Madryn Castle, together with her partner Charlie. They have brought modern thinking and a new wave of energy to the business and swiftly set about assisting the restructuring and creation of Pritchard Leisure.

The hidden gem is the epitome of understated luxury. Boasting generous sized pitches, each carefully designed with aesthetics in mind, and panoramic views towards the Irish Sea and Snowdonia National Park.
The park offers an idyllic setting within easy reach of the many popular beaches, hiking trails and attractions that the Peninsula is renowned for.
The Megram family said: “We love coming to Madryn and try to spend as much time as we can at our little getaway. It’s such a beautiful location and very peaceful, but within easy access of many lovely beaches, walks and restaurants.
“We always feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the park managers.”

The Sutton family have also fallen in love with Madryn Castle and said: “We absolutely love Madryn Castle. From the moment we found it we knew it was for us. From the beautiful grounds to the friendly and helpful staff, we couldn’t ask for more from our family retreat. Our young boys love our stays here and so do we.”
Lauren and her partner Matt have also been wowed by the location and service at Madryn Castle. They said: “Beautiful holiday park in a stunning Welsh countryside setting. The perfect getaway for all ages. The park is ideally located to visit all of what the Llŷn Peninsula has to offer, from the idyllic beaches to the breathtaking peaks.
“Madryn Castle offers 5-star service from the moment of booking and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend Madryn Castle enough! I have already booked in my next visit.”
